Background:

Chris Hood is the founder and leader of neo-Nazi group Nationalist Social Club-131 (NSC-131). He is from Malden, MA, and his last known address was in Pepperell, MA. He has been involved in far right organizing since he was 16 (as of 2022 he is 23 years old) (Martin, 2022; Palumbo & Fortier, 2022).

In high school Hood started a III% group. After that, he joined the Northeast USA Proud Boys in 2017 and served as admin for their facebook group. He then joined the Patriot Front and attended a number of Resist Marxism actions. In January 2019, Hood took a group of six masked Patriot Front members to post neo-Nazi flyers around a working class, Latinx neighborhood in Boston. Three of them were arrested for weapons possession. The posters said: “Keep America American. Report any and all illegal aliens. They are not immigrants, they are criminals.”

After getting thrown out of Patriot Front (for stealing money from them) Hood joined The Base, a neo-Nazi accelerationist group. He posted stickers for them like he did in East Boston. In January 2020, three members of The Base were arrested in Georgia for planning the murder of a couple that they believed to be antifascist activists. Hood left The Base and founded the Nationalist Social Club.

“Asked about the terms used to describe his group — racist, white supremacist, and Nazi — Hood said at one point, “If anyone calls me them, I don’t tell them they’re wrong.” … when asked if he considered himself to be racist, he answered, “Sure” (McDonald, 2020).“Boston Globe, July 14, 2020 According to GBH news, he has encouraged other young men to “bully the chicks that race mix” on college campuses (Martin, 2022).

Hood was present when around 20 NSC-131 members demonstrated at the 2022 Boston St. Patrick’s Day parade, holding a racist banner reading “Keep Boston Irish” and carrying a flag with a white supremacist symbol, the sun cross (a variation on the Celtic cross) (Sudborough, 2022).

Hood and around 17 other members of NSC-131 harassed a Drag Queen Story Hour being held at the Loring Greenough House in Jamaica Plain in July 2022. Hood verbally and physically intimidated two community members, including a trans woman, and was arrested. As of this writing, Hood is being prosecuted for affray, and is banned from approaching the original targets of his attack (Martin & Woolhouse, 2022; Palumbo & Fortier, 2022).
